Terms and Conditions - Great Barrier Reef Foundation Kick4Coral UGC Lions Tour Competition
The Competition
- The title of the competition is Great Barrier Reef Foundation Lions Tour Kick4Coral UGC Competition.
- Rugby fans are invited to Kick4Coral in support of the Great Barrier Reef by sharing their most creative kick on Instagram.
- The competition will run from 09:00 AEST on Friday 20 June 2025 (the “Opening Date”) to 23:59 AEST on Thursday 31 July 2025 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.
- There is one (1) prize awarded to the video judged to show the most creative kick. The prize is one (1) Official British and Irish Lions Series 2025 Match Ball.
General Terms and Conditions
1. The Promoters
A. The promoters are Great Barrier Reef Foundation (the Foundation) of Level 6/88 Tribune Street, South Brisbane, QLD 4101, Australia
2. How to enter
A. To enter the competition, individuals must:
- Tag @greatbarrierreeffoundation in the caption.
- Include the hashtag #Kick4Coral in the caption.
- Post a video of their creative kick to their public Instagram feed (not Stories).
B. All video entries must be posted to Instagram no later than 23:59 AEST on the Closing Date.
C. The Instagram account holder must be aged 18 years or older at the time of the entry.
D. The video may feature people of any age, but the entrant must have permission from all individuals appearing in the video.
E. The Foundation will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
F. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
G. Entry is free. No purchase or donation is required.
3. Eligibility
A. The competition is open to legal residents of Australia and the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.
B. Employees of the Foundation, their immediate families, and anyone professionally associated with the competition are not eligible to enter.
C. Instagram accounts created or managed by minors are not eligible to win. Entries posted from such accounts will not be promoted.
D. Only one entry per person is permitted.
4. Judging Process
A. Following the Closing Date, a panel of Foundation staff will select a shortlist of the 15 most creative entries. The final winner will be determined by a vote of all Foundation staff, conducted via a secure online voting platform.
B. Entries will be judged on creativity, which will be take into account a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
- Originality: How unique or unexpected the idea of execution is.
- Effort and skill: How much thought, coordination, or visual impact the kick demonstrates,
- Entertainment value: How engaging, humours, or inspiring the kick is.
- Relevance to theme: How well the entry connects to both rugby and the reef/ocean theme.
C. The entry receiving the most votes will be declared the winner.
D. The Foundation’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into to.
5. Prize Details
A. The prize is one (1) Official Gilbert British and Irish Lions Series 2025 Match Ball.
B. The maximum total prize pool value is $335.
6. Prize Conditions
A. The prize is not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash or any other goods or services.
B. If a prize is transferred, sold, or advertised for sale, it will be deemed forfeited.
C. The Foundation reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.
7. Winner
A. The winner will be notified by direct message on Instagram by 17:00 AEST on Friday 1 August, 2025. Their last name, first initial and postcode will be published on the Foundation’s website within 30 days of Friday 1 August 2025.
B. The winner must respond to the direct message within seven (7) days of receipt. Failure to respond within this period will result in forfeiture of the prize, and a replacement winner will be selected from shortlisted entries.
C. If a winner cannot accept the prize due to circumstances beyond their control, they may nominate a transferee with the Foundation’s approval. The Foundation will make reasonable efforts to transfer the prize, but is not liable if this is not possible.
D. The Foundation reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and eligible entries including but not limited to the right to request proof of age, identity, and Instagram account ownership of entrants. The Foundation reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the competition or breaches these Terms and Conditions. Failure of the Foundation to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
E. The Foundation accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from accepting a prize.
8. Use of Entries
A. By entering the competition, entrants confirm that:
- They are the original creator of the video;
- The content does not infringe on the rights (including intellectual property rights) of any third party;
- They have obtained consent from any individuals featured in the video.
B. The Foundation reserves the right to moderate, remove, or exclude any entries deemed offensive, unsafe, misleading, or inconsistent with the values of the Foundation.
C. By submitting an entry, entrants grant the Great Barrier Reef Foundation a royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce and publish their video for promotional, marketing, and fundraising purposes.
9. Limitation of Liability
A. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Foundation and which prevents the Foundation from complying with these Terms and Conditions, the Foundation will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations. The Foundation reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this competition.
B. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Foundation and its associated agencies and companies shall not be liable for any loss (including indirect, special or consequential loss), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained in connection with this competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
10. Data Protection
A. The Foundation will only process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
B. By entering the competition, you consent to the Foundation collecting and processing your personal information for the purposes of administering and promoting the competition, contacting winners, verifying eligibility and to conduct marketing activities.
C. For entrants located in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the Foundation will process your personal information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including your rights to access, correction, and deletion of personal data.
11. General
A. The Great Barrier Reef Foundation reserves the right to amend or withdraw the competition or these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice.
B. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
C. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta and by entering this competition and these Terms and Conditions you confirm that you are 18 year or older and you release Instagram and Meta from all liability arising from this competition
D. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
